Preppers (Two 1/2 to Three 1/2 Years)*

Once a child is mature enough to handle "potty time" by himself/herself, and the staff and parents believe the child is socially, physically, and emotionally ready to move to the next classroom environment, the child will enter our Prepper Program.

In this classroom teachers are prepared for "potty accidents". This program, designed to meet the special needs of maturing twos and young threes, is a perfect bridge into our Preschool classroom.

In this stage of development, there is a rapid increase in physical, cognitive, developmental and social skills. The Prepper program provides a balanced curriculum to satisfy this unique growth period.

*Ages may vary according to state regulations

The Learning Experience® is teaching signing
to all of their children, infants through preschool,
at no extra cost to the parent.

At this stage and age, the children are introduced to L.E.A.P. ® (Learning Experience Academic Program®) which is designed to challenge the rapidly developing verbal skills of each child. L.E.A.P.® provides our Prepper teachers with a comprehensive monthly curriculum. It includes semimonthly journals for each student.

Each child's journal is proudly taken home after completion for parents to share in all that has been learned. The journals are a wonderful tool for you to understand what your child is learning each month. L.E.A.P. ® encourages each child to achieve success independently while developing intellectually, socially and physically.

The monthly curriculum covers language, science, social studies, math, art, music and physical fitness. Preppers are also ready to learn letter recognition, shapes, colors and numbers.

Preppers participate in more advanced arts and crafts and enjoy books read by their teachers, playing games and engaging in finger-puppet plays. Transitions into our Preschool are never made without parents partnering in the decision. Once teachers and parents confirm that decision, the transition is made with great care and gradually over a two week period. There is never a reason for anxiety either by child or parent due to a classroom move.

A Prepper's day is packed with fun!

Nightly reports called Prepper Telegrams, are prepared so that busy parents may review their child's day at TLE at their leisure.

The Learning Experience® (TLE) serves both morning and afternoon snacks that are nutritious and "child friendly". Snacks are prepared in a licensed and approved on site kitchen facility. When lunch is provided, it is prepared by a licensed cook from menus approved by a registered dietician.

TLE is sensitive to dietary needs of our multi-cultural society. Parents are asked to indicate upon enrollment if there are any food restrictions and or food allergies that apply to their children. The center complies with all local health ordinances, inspections and state recommended guidelines regarding children's nutrition.

A cook is hired to prepare lunch when the center's enrollment has reached 75 children eating table food. New centers may not offer lunch programs upon opening. In that case, parents send in home-made lunches. Refrigeration is provided if needed.
